Kansas guard Quentin Grimes has decided to leave Lawrence and transfer to Houston, the former five-star recruit announced via Twitter on Thursday.
Grimes stated he would play elsewhere after withdrawing from the NBA draft pool and would search for a bigger role at the collegiate level.
There were high expectations regarding Grimes' role in Kansas, but he was mostly a disappointment despite starting in all 36 appearances. The 6-foot-5 swingman averaged 8.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 27.4 minutes per contest.
Grimes will likely have to sit the 2019-20 campaign before debuting for the Cougars in his sophomore season.
The Texas native hails from The Woodlands, just an hour north of the university.
