Ty Jerome celebrates Virginia's redemption with altered UMBC shirt
Former Virginia star Ty Jerome is still basking in the glow of the Cavaliers' 2019 NCAA Tournament championship run.
Jerome, now a member of the Phoenix Suns, showed up to a Las Vegas Summer League game Wednesday wearing a UMBC shirt with a Virginia emblem over the logo.

Jerome later clarified the alteration wasn't intended to troll UMBC.
Not a UMBC troll. Nothing but respect for them. About owning up to it & how we responded 🤷🏽♂️ https://t.co/JtRTOsdD8m

UMBC's first-round victory over Virginia in 2018 marked the first time in the history of the men's NCAA Tournament that a No. 16 seed defeated a No. 1 seed. The Retrievers failed to secure a berth in the 2019 tournament.
