5-star PG Jalen Suggs commits to Gonzaga
Five-star point guard Jalen Suggs has committed to Gonzaga, he announced Friday evening.
The 6-foot-4 floor general is the No. 6 prospect in the 2020 ESPN 100 and ranks as the second-best point guard in the nation behind Cade Cunningham.
Florida, Florida State, Iowa State, and Minnesota were Suggs' other top choices.
"I chose Gonzaga because really the family feel for one, and for two, the scheme and the way I think it's perfect for me to come in and do my thing with the bigs that they have right now," Suggs told 247Sports' Evan Daniels. "I see myself going in there and making an impact right away."
Known for his versatility finishing around the rim, court vision, and above-average frame, Suggs is now the highest-ranked recruit in the history of Gonzaga's program, ESPN's Jeff Borzello notes.
While the 18-year-old may have committed to the Bulldogs, there's no guarantee he plays a game for the school just yet. Suggs has been considering going overseas to play professionally.
"That’s something where it's presenting itself and the contract and everything is looking right then we will go ahead and get moving with that but until then I’m just going to keep taking my time and be focused on Gonzaga," Suggs said.
