Pittsburgh guard McGowens enters transfer portal
Pittsburgh guard Trey McGowens is entering the transfer portal.
McGowens started 63 of the 66 games he appeared in for Pittsburgh over the last two seasons.
The 19-year-old is coming off a sophomore campaign in which he averaged 11.5 points, 3.6 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in 33.8 minutes per contest. He'll have two years of eligibility remaining after transferring.
"Trey was a productive player in our program for the past two seasons," Pittsburgh head coach Jeff Capel said, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Craig Meyer. "We appreciate his commitment to the program and his teammates and wish him the best of luck as he seeks an opportunity elsewhere."
McGowens was the Panthers' first commitment after Capel assumed head coaching duties in March 2018, Meyer noted.
