Agency: McClung still testing NBA draft process
The agency representing Mac McClung has shot down Georgetown head coach Patrick Ewing's statement that the guard has decided to return for his junior season.
"Contrary to the recent reports, (McClung) has not notified anyone in Georgetown that he is withdrawing from the 2020 NBA Draft or returning to Georgetown for the 2020-21 season," Hazan Sports Management wrote on Twitter. "Mac has received great feedback thus far from NBA teams."
Ewing said Tuesday that McClung had decided to return to Georgetown after testing the draft process.
Players such as McClung are allowed to retain the services of NCAA-certified agencies in order to test the draft process while still maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The deadline for NCAA players to withdraw from the NBA draft remains June 15, although the draft itself is expected to be postponed.
McClung led the Hoyas in scoring in 2019-20. The high-flying guard built some buzz for himself coming out of high school in 2018 with a widely viewed mixtape.
