The 6-foot-10, 245-pound center was listed by ESPN as the No. 2 recruit in the 2022 class before reclassifying. Many are predicting him to be taken with a top-five pick in the 2022 draft.
Duren was also considering taking his talents to Kentucky, Miami, Australia's NBL, and the NBA G League, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello and Paul Biancardi.
The 17-year-old is set to bolster a Tigers squad still seeking its first NCAA Tournament berth under head coach Penny Hardaway.
With Duren in the fold, The Tigers now turn their attention to another five-star recruit, Emoni Bates, who also reclassified to the 2021 class and is considering attending one of Memphis, Michigan State, or Oregon next season. The G League Ignite also remains an option for Bates.
