UCLA is pausing its men's basketball program and canceling Saturday's game against North Carolina due to "COVID-19 developments within the Bruins' program," the school announced Friday.

The CBS Sports Classic matchup against the Tar Heels, which was to be played at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, will not be rescheduled.

Kentucky will take on North Carolina on Saturday in UCLA's place.

After head coach Mick Cronin tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, the fourth-ranked Bruins announced that their matchup with Alabama State later that day would be canceled due to protocols.

Since a win over Colorado on Dec. 1, UCLA has played just once this month, a 67-56 victory at Marquette on Saturday. The team was scheduled to face Washington on the road on Dec. 5, but that game was forfeited by the Huskies due to their own COVID-19 issues.

UCLA is scheduled to play next on Dec. 22 against Cal Poly.
