5-star forward Bailey commits to Rutgers' 2024 class over Kentucky
Airious Bailey, a five-star forward in the 2024 recruiting class, committed to Rutgers, turning down interest from Kentucky, sources told theScore insider Jordan Schultz.
The high school junior later confirmed his decision to Travis Branham of 247Sports.
"It's home, it feels like home," Bailey said. "I got family there, it just feels like home."
The touted frontcourt recruit is the highest-ranked recruit to commit to the Scarlet Knights in the program's history. He is the top power forward in the 2024 class and the No. 9 prospect overall, according to ESPN. He's also the class' highest-ranked recruit to commit thus far.
On Jan. 1, Bailey announced Rutgers and Kentucky were among his final 12 schools, alongside Georgia, Auburn, Texas, Memphis, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kansas, West Virginia, Arkansas, and Oregon.
The Georgia native made an official visit to Rutgers in September.
He joins four-star point guard Dellquan Warren in Rutgers' 2024 class.
