Arizona's Tubelis declares for NBA draft
Arizona star forward Azuolas Tubelis is entering the 2023 NBA Draft, he told ESPN's Jonathan Givony on Thursday.
The Lithuanian junior is unlikely to pull out of the process and return to college next season, Givony adds.
Tubelis was a second-team All-American this season, averaging 19.8 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per contest. He helped lead the Wildcats to a 28-7 record and a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. He had a game-high 22 points in their disappointing upset loss to No. 15 Princeton in the Round of 64.
As just a 29.5% 3-point shooter with athleticism concerns on defense, Tubelis is seen as a borderline second-round pick.
That said, Tubelis will stand as one of the most productive college players with the opportunity to be chosen for June's event. He still maintains two years of eligibility should he decide to return to school.
