Bronny James commits to USC
Four-star guard Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, committed to USC, he announced Saturday on Instagram.
LeBron called Saturday one of the best days of his life due to his son's college commitment, via Spectrum SportsNet.
"It's just a proud moment to see my son go to college. And he's the first one to go to college in my family," the Lakers star said after his team's 127-97 victory over the Golden State Warriors.
Bronny is ranked by ESPN as the 19th-best prospect in the Class of 2023. He joins a USC recruiting class that includes Isaiah Collier, the top-ranked prospect by ESPN.
James had offers from USC, Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, Memphis, and Kentucky. He reportedly narrowed down his choices to the former three before choosing to stay in Southern California, where he played throughout high school for Sierra Canyon.
The 18-year-old scored 15 points in the 2023 McDonald's All-American Game in March and played at the Nike Hoops Summit in April.
USC finished last season 22-11 and lost to Michigan State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Multiple starters are returning for next season, including leading scorer Boogie Ellis.
