Cohen is the first female athletic director in the school's history, according to the Los Angeles Times' J. Brady McCollough.
Cohen served as Washington's athletic director since 2016 and is a member of the College Football Playoff committee. She spent close to 24 years working within the Huskies' athletic department.
Cohen is touted for hiring Washington football coach Kalen DeBoer, who led the program to an 11-2 record and a win over Texas in the Alamo Bowl in his first season at the helm. The Huskies' athletic department also established a thriving men's soccer and volleyball team during Cohen's tenure.
The 54-year-old Cohen replaces former athletic director Mike Bohn, who resigned in May due to health challenges, among other issues.
USC is set to play out the 2023-24 season in the Pac-12 before making the move to the Big Ten next year alongside UCLA, Washington, and Oregon.
