USC's Bronny James cleared for full return

USC freshman guard Bronny James has been cleared to make a full return to basketball, a James family spokesperson said, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The 19-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest in late July. James will have a final evaluation with USC medical staff this week and will return to practice next week before playing games for the Trojans.

"The James family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible medical team, the entire USC community, and especially the countless friends, family, and fans for their love and support."

The son of NBA star LeBron James, Bronny participated in USC pregame warmups before a contest against Brown earlier in November.

Bronny's cardiac arrest was determined to have been likely caused by a congenital heart defect after a comprehensive evaluation was completed on him in August.

LeBron dedicated his 21st season in the NBA to his son.

The Trojans are off to a 5-2 start this season.
