5-star forward Derrion Reid picks Alabama

Derrion Reid, the No. 9 prospect on the 2024 ESPN 100, announced his commitment to Alabama, according to ESPN's Paul Biancardi.

The 6-foot-7 forward selected the Crimson Tide over Georgia and Florida State.

"I love their play style and the coaches," Reid said, according to Biancardi. "I believe I can make an immediate impact and get better in all aspects of my game so I can get to the league."

Reid is the third top-50 recruit to commit to Alabama, joining Prolific Prep teammate Aiden Sherrell and forward Naasir Cunningham in Alabama's recruiting class for next season.

Zoom Diallo, another Prolific Prep player and the No. 25 recruit in the 2024 class, will announce his commitment on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide are 6-5 to start the season.
