Kansas' Dickinson, McCullar out for Big 12 tourney
Kansas starters Hunter Dickinson and Kevin McCullar will miss the Big 12 Tournament due to shoulder and knee injuries, respectively, head coach Bill Self said, according to Zagsblog's Adam Zagoria.
The duo is expected to be available for March Madness.
Dickinson suffered a shoulder injury against top-ranked Houston on Saturday. McCullar played 15 minutes in the loss and went scoreless. The wing has dealt with knee injuries throughout the season.
"It's going to look a lot different, and we are going to be tiny," Self said, according to Henry Greenstein of The Lawrence Journal-World.
Self added that he'll likely start KJ Adams at center, Johnny Furphy at power forward, and Nick Timberlake at small forward.
Dickinson, named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, is averaging 18 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.4 blocks. McCullar is leading Kansas in scoring with 18.3 points per game while also averaging six rebounds and 4.1 assists.
The Jayhawks open the Big 12 Tournament on Wednesday. They'll face the winner of Tuesday's matchup between Cincinnati and West Virginia.
