The Utah Jazz selected Colorado forward Cody Williams with the No. 10 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on Wednesday.

The younger brother of Oklahoma City Thunder rising star Jalen Williams, the former five-star recruit played one season with the Buffaloes. The 19-year-old flashed athleticism that should translate to the NBA, using his frame and quickness to get past defenders and finish around the rim. Williams was also a stout defender at Colorado, switching between both guards and forward.

Williams will need to put on weight in the Association to keep up with larger players. There also remain questions about the legitimacy of his 3-point shooting, as his sample size was low at Colorado (17-for-41).

NBA comparable: Jaden McDaniels. The Minnesota Timberwolves forward is two inches taller, but his defensive versatility helped his squad reach the Western Conference finals, as he guarded premium offensive players in the playoffs. Williams should be watching his tape.
