Kansas has lost back-to-back games to unranked schools after winning its first seven games of the season. Creighton handed Kansas its first defeat of the campaign Wednesday.
The Jayhawks' shooting troubles from their previous loss continued. They shot 39.7% from the field and 34.8% from deep Sunday. Hunter Dickinson led Kansas with 19 points on 5-of-11 shooting.
Tigers guard Mark Mitchell added 17 points, while guard Anthony Robinson II dropped 11.
The Border War rivalry between the schools began in 1907, and Kansas leads the all-time series 176-96 while winning 14 of the last 17 contests.
Both teams return to action Saturday, with Missouri playing Long Island and Kansas taking on NC State.
