Arkansas' Fland returning for March Madness
Arkansas is getting freshman guard Boogie Fland back for the NCAA Tournament, head coach John Calipari confirmed Monday.
Fland underwent hand surgery Jan. 22 and was expected to miss the rest of the season. He'll be available when Arkansas opens March Madness on Thursday against Kansas, but Calipari is unsure how many minutes he'll be able to play.
"'Will he play more than 15 minutes?' I don't know. Maybe less," Calipari said, according to Hoops HQ's Mike Barber. "But I know he's talented, and for our team, (he can) come in and rebound, defend, make easy plays, fly up and down the court, make the plays. … And that will help us."
Fland was averaging 15.1 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds prior to his injury.
Arkansas finished the season 12th in the SEC, going 20-13 overall and 8-10 in conference play.
