USC recruit Alijah Arenas, the son of three-time NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, has been released from hospital following his car crash, his family told ESPN's Shams Charania on Wednesday.

"While his journey to full recovery is just beginning, his spirit remains strong, and he is surrounded by love and support," his family said.

Arenas suffered no major injuries after he lost control of his Tesla Cybertruck on his way back from the gym. The L.A. Fire Department said the vehicle struck a tree and/or fire hydrant.

He was placed into a medically induced coma due to smoke inhalation and remained intubated after he awoke from it.

Arenas is a five-star prospect in the class of 2025 who ranks 13th overall. He's the third-highest-ranked shooting guard and is the Trojans' top prospect for the recruiting cycle.
