Former Cincinnati center Moustapha Thiam is transferring to national champion Michigan for the 2026-27 season, he told ESPN's Shams Charania.

The 7-foot-2 Thiam, one of the top players remaining in the portal, averaged 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks for the Bearcats last season as a sophomore.

As a freshman with UCF, he led the Big 12 with 2.6 blocks per game while averaging 10.4 points and 6.4 rebounds in 34 starts.

Thiam joins Jalen Reed (LSU) and J.P. Estrella (Tennessee) as transfer additions for Dusty May. The head coach also boasts a strong incoming freshman class headlined by five-star point guard Brandon McCoy Jr. and top-50 forwards Quinn Costello and Lincoln Cosby, although Cosby is still recovering from a torn ACL.

Elliot Cadeau is the only starter from Michigan's national championship victory over UConn who's penciled in to return next season. Nimari Burnett and Big Ten Player of the Year Yaxel Lendeborg have both exhausted their NCAA eligibility. Morez Johnson Jr. announced Friday that he'll test the NBA draft process, while Spanish center Aday Mara has yet to make a decision ahead of the 11:59 p.m. ET deadline.
