NCAA Game Summary - Long Island vs. Boston University

Irvine, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Maurice Watson Jr. scored 16 points as he led the Boston University Terriers over the Long Island Blackbirds, 72-57, to finish off their 2K Sports Classic action at the Bren Events Center.

Watson Jr. was 7-of-9 from the field while tallying six rebounds, four assists, and four steals for the Terriers (4-2). John Papale added 14 points while knocking down four 3-pointers. Malik Thomas contributed 13 points off the bench as D.J. Irving managed 11 points, seven assists and five rebounds.

Long Island (1-4) dropped its fourth straight game to spoil a 21-point, eight- rebound performance from E.J. Reed. Landon Atterberry added 12 points and seven rebounds while Jason Brickman dished out 12 assists.

The Terriers held the Blackbirds to just 28.6 percent shooting from the field in the first half and led 37-23 at intermission.

In the second half, Boston University managed to shoot 50.0 percent from the floor to coast to the victory.

The opportunistic Terriers turned 13 Long Island turnovers into 18 points. The Blackbirds managed only three points off turnovers.
