NCAA Game Summary - South Dakota State at North Dakota State
Fargo, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Trayvonn Wright scored a game-high 20 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the North Dakota State Bison grabbed a 74-59 win over the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in Summit League action at Bison Sports Arena.
Marshall Bjorklund accounted for 18 points and matched Wright on the glass with a team-best seven rebounds, followed by Lawrence Alexander and Kory Brown with 12 and 10 points, respectively, for a North Dakota State (21-6, 10-2 Summit) squad that won for the 10th time in 11 games and remaining in control of the league standings.
The Jackrabbits (16-11, 8-4) were paced by Cody Larson with 11 points, although he shot just 3-of-14 from the floor, followed by Brayden Carlson and Jordan Dykstra with 10 points apiece in the setback. Jake Bittle (nine points) was the only player with more than three made field goals for the visitors.
NDSU took control right out of the gate, shooting 53.8 percent from the field and at the same time limiting the visitors to a mere seven field goals through the first 20 minutes of action. The Jackrabbits connected on only 1-of-7 beyond the arc in the period as they fell behind at the break, 33-18.
In the second half the Bison again shot the ball well at a 54.5 percent clip, adding 15-of-20 at the free-throw line in order to cruise to the 15-point win.
North Dakota State logged a mere four offensive rebounds, yet still matched SDSU in second-chance points (five) on the afternoon.
