Nothing like a trip Down Under to give a team some perspective.

Eastern Kentucky announced on Wednesday that the men's basketball team will travel to Australia for a quartet of games in August.

The Colonels will leave on the 5th and return on the 16th, per the team release.

"This is going to be a great experience for our guys," head coach Jeff Neubauer said.

"On the basketball side, this will be a challenge.  The teams we are going to face play at a very high level.  This is also going to be a great opportunity for our players to see another part of the world."

EKU will play against teams in Sydney, Wollongong, Brisbane and Cairns. Three of the four teams play in Australia's National Basketball League.

The Colonels finished last season with a 24-10 record and the second-most wins in the history of the program.

That record was set one season prior, when the school recorded 25.
