Michigan State's Tom Izzo says Kenny Kaminski was dismissed, releases statement
One of the most respected coaches in the college ranks had some stern words for a former player.
In addressing former Michigan State forward Kenny Kaminski's dismissal from the Spartans, head coach Tom Izzo released a strongly-worded statement, the highlights of which are listed below (via Chris Vaninni):
Despite multiple opportunities, Kenny Kaminski could not live up to the obligations necessary to be a part of our program.
After he repeatedly failed to meet the necessary obligations, it became apparent that it was time to dismiss Kenny from the program.
Although this is disappointing, it is just a minor setback as we are coming off one of the best summers in recent years.
Kaminski did lead the Big-Ten in three-point percentage last season, but he was also repeatedly suspended a number of times for various infractions, mostly stemming from character and academic issues.
Earlier, Kaminski stated on Twitter that he was leaving Michigan State by way of transfers, but now it's been made public that he was released by the team.
