Colorado State lands immediately eligible transfer Antwan Scott
Antwan Scott will suit up for his third NCAA team when the 2014-15 season kicks off.
Originally an Idaho recruit, Scott transferred to Grambling State last season, emerging as an impressive guard with averages of 15.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
Now, however, Scott is on his way to Colorado State, where he'll look to fill the hole left by outgoing transfer Jon Octeus. Scott announced his transfer decision on Tuesday, as reported by The News Star:
I'm excited. I'm ready to do it. I'm not going to lie. I'm lost for words. I'm a Ram now.
Coach (Larry) Eustachy is one of the best one's doing it right now, to be honest. It was tough, man. Tennessee is a great place. It's an amazing place. My heart is with Colorado State.
I felt wanted. A lot of them told me they needed a point guard and they were missing a point guard. I felt comfortable talking to Eustachy and (assistant coach Ross) Hodge and the coaches.
Scott will battle with John Gillon – also transferring into the program – for the starting point guard role.
Because he graduated from Grambling State this spring, Scott is able to play immediately under the graduate transfer rules.
