Referee Rick Crawford appears to have avoided too serious an injury after a scary moment in Brooklyn on Saturday.

As Crawford threw the opening tip for the consolation game of the Barclays Center Classic, Vanderbilt center Damian Jones inadvertently struck Crawford in the face with his arm. Crawford went to the ground and was later stretchered off the court and taken to Brooklyn Hospital.

"It was a little scary," Crawford told The Associated Press. "I think after the elbow hit my eye, my head hit the floor. I was fully conscious. I was aware of what was going on. So it was a little scary."

Crawford said that he did not have a concussion and his injuries were limited to a bump above his right eye.
