Marquette's Deonte Burton, John Dawson to transfer out of program

Marquette guard/forward Deonte Burton and guard John Dawson will transfer out of the basketball program, the school announced Tuesday. 

"We appreciate all that Deonte and John have contributed to the program since our staff arrived in April,” said head coach Steve Wojciechowski. "We will do everything we can to help them make the next step in their respective careers and wish them nothing but the best in the future."

Burton has 6.4 points and 1.4 rebounds this year through the eight games he's played it. Dawson appeared only in the team's season opener. 

The Golden Eagles are 4-4 this season.
