Duke dismisses Rasheed Sulaimon
Duke announced Thursday that guard Rasheed Sulaimon has been dismissed.
The junior is still enrolled at the school, in good academic standing and expected to finish the spring semester, but apparently didn't fulfill the team's expectations.
Coach Mike Krzyzewski spoke on the dismissal:
Rasheed has been unable to consistently live up to the standards required to be a member of our program. It is a privilege to represent Duke University and with that privilege comes the responsibility to conduct oneself in a certain manner. After Rasheed repeatedly struggled to meet the necessary obligations, it became apparent that it was time to dismiss him from the program.
Sulaimon, a native of Houston, averaged 7.5 points, two rebounds and 1.8 assists.
He was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team following the 2012-13 season after putting up 11.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
