Nothing says March Madness like the drama of a heart-pounding buzzer-beater to claim victory.

Here are the top five shots that beat the clock to moved teams to the next round of the NCAA tournament.

5. Arkansas' U.S. Reed hits half-court Hail Mary to beat Louisville (1981)

With three seconds left in the second round of the 1981 NCAA tournament, Arkansas' U.S. Reed pulled a classic March Madness move by tossing up a Hail Mary half-court shot to defeat Louisville.

4. UCLA's Tyus Edney hits miracle against Missouri (1995)

UCLA was trailing Missouri by one in the second round of March Madness in 1995 with just 4.8 seconds left when Tyus Edney flew down the length of the court, skating past defenders to finish a speedy layup with bank shot over a big man for the victory.

3. Valparaiso's Bryce Drew drains 3 to upset Ole Miss (1998)

No. 13 Valparaiso was down by two points against fourth-seed Ole Miss in the first round of the 1998 NCAA tournament. With 2.5 seconds to go coast-to-coast to score, Crusaders' Jamie Sykes threw the inbounds pass to a waiting Bill Jenkins past the midcourt line. Jenkins then immediately tipped it to Bryce Drew, who put up a deep 3-point shot at the buzzer to lift his team to the win.

Drew returns to March Madness at the helm of this year's Crusaders.

2. NC State's Charles dunks airball to earn national championship over Houston (1983)

NC State was tied at 52 points with Houston during the final round of March Madness in 1983. The Wolfpack's Dereck Whittenburg tossed up a Hail Mary with less than four seconds in the game that looked as though it would be short. Lorenzo Charles caught the rock and dunked as time expired to give NC State the shocking upset and the title.

1. Christian Laettner's jumper lifts Duke over Kentucky in OT (1992)

The 1992 East Regional Final between Duke and Kentucky is touted by many as the most dramatic college basketball game of all time. The Blue Devils trailed the Wildcats by one point with 2.1 seconds left in overtime. Grant Hill lobbed the ball across the entire court to a waiting Christian Laettner, who gave it one bounce and turned to hit a jumper that beat the clock.
