The Badgers senior beat out Kentucky forward Willie Cauley-Stein, Notre Dame guard Jerian Grant and Duke forward Jahlil Okafor.
Kaminsky had an outstanding season, recording 18.7 points per game, to go with 8.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists. He was named The Associated Press Player of the Year two days earlier.
Beyond his personal accolades, Kaminsky has played a pivotal role in Wisconsin's March Madness run. After a 36-3 regular-season record, the Badgers are one win away from taking home a national championship after taking down undefeated Kentucky in the Final Four.
On top of winning the AP and Naismith awards, Kaminsky was also named the NABC Div. 1 National Player of the Year.
