Iowa State head coach Fred Hoiberg underwent successful open heart surgery Friday at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
The 42-year-old had surgery to replace his aortic valve after putting off the procedure twice during the regular season.
"Everything went very well," Dr. Rakesh Suri said. "The operation was a success and Mr. Hoiberg is in recovery and doing very well himself."
