Report: 5-star recruit Thon Maker won't enroll in college until at least December
Thon Maker, a highly-coveted five-star recruit in the class of 2015, won't enroll in college until at least December, according to Jeff Borzello of ESPN.
Borzello notes that Maker has had the most contact with Arizona State and Indiana.
He narrowed his list of schools down to Arizona State, Indiana, Kansas, and Kentucky back in April.
The connection to Arizona State is obvious. Sun Devils assistant coach Brian Merritt is a friend of Maker's guardian.
The idea of enrolling late had been floated out by the Maker camp, and it now seems to be his intention. That could turn a potential one-and-done player into a half-year-and-done player. However, he'll remain a highly sought-after commodity given his potential to take over the college game.
Owning a unique skill set for a 7-footer, Maker burst onto the national scene when a highlight-reel clip that showed off his perimeter skills went viral.
