Washington received a huge pledge on Friday night.
Five-star guard Markelle Fultz, ranked the No. 21 recruit in the nation by ESPN, has committed to play for the Huskies.
Checking in at 6-foot-5, Fultz is touted as the top recruit in his home state of Maryland.
"The main reason I am going to Washington is my connection with Coach Romar," said Fultz. "I trust his plan for me, I feel like I fit into their system, and I know he can help me develop my game. He has coached guys that have made it to the NBA, and that's where I want to be someday."
A major factor for Fultz's commitment is also assistant coach Raphael Chillious, a native of Maryland.
"I am so close to Coach Chillious that we don't even talk about basketball," explained Fultz.
