LSU freshman Antonio Blakeney has been cleared by the NCAA and will be able to hit the court when the Tigers open their season, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports.
Blakeney was being investigated by the NCAA because of workout videos he made with a trainer, sources told Goodman.
The five-star shooting guard will join fellow freshman Ben Simmons on an LSU squad that suddenly boasts some of the best talent in the country. Blakeney was the 15th overall recruit in the 2015 class, while Simmons came in at No. 1.
Blakeney, a onetime Louisville recruit, was also reportedly questioned by the NCAA regarding allegations that an ex-Cardinals staffer provided escorts to players and recruits.
The Tigers open their schedule against McNeese State on Nov. 13.
