VIDEO: No. 3 Maryland survives Wisconsin on Trimble's game-winning 3-ball
Maryland is off to its best start in school history, and it has one man to thank: Melo Trimble.
After Wisconsin battled back in the game's final 90 seconds and tied it on a Bronson Koenig step-back 3-pointer, Trimble held for the last possession and returned the favor by knocking down a dagger three of his own from way behind the arc to win the game.
The sophomore guard finished the contest with 21 points in his return from a hamstring injury that had forced him out of Maryland's previous game against Rutgers.
Robert Carter helped out the winning cause with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman center Diamond Stone contributed 11 points off the bench as an emotional Kohl Center booed and heckled the former five-star Badgers target from Milwaukee.
Wisconsin was led by Nigel Hayes, who scored 17 points, and Ethan Happ, who poured in 16 points and 11 boards.
The No. 3 Terps improved to 15-1 on the season, while Wisconsin and its dejected fans dropped to 9-8.
