Marvin Bagley's lawyers release statement on ineligibility ruling
The top prospect in the class of 2018, Marvin Bagley III, was declared ineligible to play this season for an "athletically motivated transfer," but the phenom's lawyers are working to get him back on the court.
Bagley has an appeal hearing set for Tuesday, and his team of lawyers are confident he'll be playing this winter.
"We are confident that when the CIF looks at the new evidence we are going to present at the hearing, that they are going to rule that Marvin is eligible to play immediately. That would be the fair decision," his legal team said in a statement, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
The 6-foot-10 Arizona native is already being heavily recruited by perennial powerhouses Duke, Kentucky, Arizona, and Kansas, but if he remains ineligible, he won't play again until January 2017.
