UNLV forward Stephen Zimmerman has been diagnosed with a sprained knee and is out indefinitely, interim coach Todd Simon told reporters Monday evening.
The freshmen Rebel suffered the injury in Saturday's loss to Fresno State, and had an MRI earlier Monday.
Zimmerman is averaging a near-double double with 10.6 points and nine rebounds. The 7-footer is also one of the top rim-protectors in the Mountain West Conference, as he averages 2.1 blocks per game.
UNLV has endured a number of injuries this season en route to a disappointing 13-11 record. The Rebels are next in action Wednesday against San Jose State.
