It's been a night of frantic first-half finishes in college basketball.
Moments after Vanderbilt closed its first half against Florida with a block-to-three-quarter-court-heave combination, Baylor broke a tie with No. 2-ranked Kansas in stunning fashion ahead of the halftime buzzer.
Junior guard Ishmail Wainwright hurled a pinpoint inbounds touchdown pass to senior forward Rico Gathers, who faded to the left corner, whirled, and drained a rainbow three over the outstretched arm of Jayhawks big man Landen Lucas.
Most surprising of all: It was the first 3-ball Gathers had attempted in his four-year college career. He was so excited, he knocked a fan flat on his backside with an emphatic chest bump.
