East Carolina rolls to 52-39 win over South Florida
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) Caleb White scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds as East Carolina rolled to 52-39 win over South Florida on Wednesday night.
Lance Tejada added 11 points and B.J. Tyson had 10 points for the Pirates (12-18, 4-13 American Conference) who hit 36 percent from the field overall, 25 percent from distance, and 73 percent from the line.
The Pirates surged 15-7 to start and never trailed on their way to a 26-16 lead at the break.
Tejada hit a 3-pointer and a layup back-to-back to extend East Carolina's lead to 43-25 with 9:18 to play in the second half and the Pirates cruised from there.
Jaleel Cousins scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds for the Bulls (7-23, 4-13) who shot 29 percent from the field and made just 1 of 15 from 3-point range.
