Despite blowing a 14-point lead, then squandering chances to win the game both at the buzzer in regulation and in the first overtime, No. 5 Purdue still had a chance to escape their matchup against No. 12 Little-Rock Arkansas with the win.

Except all they managed was a final, swerving drive to the hoop that caught the underside of the backboard to lose in double overtime.

Down one with nearly 10 seconds left, Boilermakers guard Johnny Hill drove the length of the court with his eyes on a potential game-winning basket. However, he only managed to make a fool of himself as he slipped inside the paint before tossing up a hopeless layup.
