Mississippi State freshman Malik Newman will declare for the 2016 NBA Draft and test his stock, a source told Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
The standout guard could return to school after the draft combine, Rothstein added.
Newman enjoyed a fine first season in Starkville, averaging 11.3 points per game for the Bulldogs, but only shot 39.1 percent from the field.
The 6-foot-3 scorer, who was a McDonald's All-American one year ago, currently projects as a second-round pick.
