Providence's Ben Bentil declares for NBA draft
Providence forward Ben Bentil is testing the NBA draft waters.
Bentil has declared for the 2016 NBA Draft, but hasn't hired an agent, Evan Daniels of Scout.com first reported. By not hiring an agent, Bentil will have the option to return to school if he does not like his NBA outlook following the combine.
"I have decided to declare for the NBA Draft and go through the workout process over the next six weeks," Bentil told Kevin McNamara of the Providence Journal. "I intend on staying in school this spring and finishing my sophomore year. I am not hiring an agent so that I have the option of returning to Providence College for my junior season."
The sophomore starred for the Friars this season alongside Kris Dunn, averaging 21.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Dunn has also declared for the draft.
A little undersized for an NBA power forward, Bentil is currently projected as a mid-second-round pick.
