Report: Georgia Tech targeting Duke's Capel, Celtics' Larranaga for HC job
Duke assistant Jeff Capel and Boston Celtics assistant Jay Larranaga are the latest names to emerge in Georgia Tech's search for a new head coach.
Though talks are still in their initial stages, the Yellow Jackets have reached out to both Capel and Larranaga, sources told ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
Georgia Tech is in the process of replacing Brian Gregory, who was fired last week after five seasons.
Capel, who played for Duke, was the head coach at VCU and Oklahoma before joining coach Mike Krzyzewski's staff in 2011. The 41-year-old, who plays a key role in the recruiting process, hasn't commented on the situation.
Larranaga has been on Brad Stevens' staff with the Celtics since 2012, and is the son of Miami head coach Jim Larranaga.
Charlotte head coach Mark Price has also been linked to the Yellow Jackets' vacancy, but he said he's staying with the 49ers.
