Former 1st-round pick Funkhouser falls to Tigers at 115th
Kyle Funkhouser's gamble didn't pay off.
The Louisville right-hander was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the fourth round, 115th overall in the MLB draft on Friday.
Funkhouser was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers with the 35th pick in 2015. He didn't sign, however, opting to return to Louisville for his senior year.

The 22-year-old, who's advised by super agent Scott Boras, may have cost himself a ton of cash by electing not to sign with the Dodgers last year.
His slot value as the No. 35 pick was $1.756 million, while his slot value in the fourth round is $429,000, Matthew B. Mowery of The Oakland Press reports.
Funkhouser amassed a 9-3 record with a 3.86 ERA across 15 starts for the Cardinals in 2016.
