Tight end Brent Wilkerson has been dismissed from the Penn State football program due to a violation of team rules.
"We appreciate Brent’s contributions to the program and wish him success in the future," an athletic department rep said in a statement Wednesday, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of the Centre Daily Times.
Wilkerson was suspended by the team in March after an incident with a woman resulted in assault charges.
Wilkerson caught six passes for 39 yards last season, and was going into his senior year with the Nittany Lions.
