Michigan's NFL draft mediocrity continues
Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports
Party like it's 2015, 2014, 2012, and 2010.
For the fifth time since 2008, Michigan saw a trio of its former players get drafted into the NFL, but have yet to get over the three-draftee hump in all eight years.
Michigan entered the 2016 NFL Draft with six draft-eligible players, but only half of them heard their names called over the three-day event:
Player | Position | Round |
---|---|---|
Graham Glasgow | C | 3 |
Willie Henry | DT | 4 |
Jake Rudock | QB | 6 |
Joe Bolden | LB | Undrafted |
Desmond Morgan | LB | Undrafted |
Mario Ojemudia | LB | Undrafted |
On a more positive note, Jake Rudock became the first Wolverine drafted as a quarterback since Chad Henne, who was part of a seven-draftee Michigan class in - you guessed it - 2008. Denard Robinson was drafted in the fifth round in 2013, but he was taken as a running back after playing quarterback in college.
