Former Auburn defensive back Tim Irvin transferring to East Carolina
After announcing in May that he would be leaving the Auburn program, Tim Irvin confirmed on Tuesday that he would be transferring to East Carolina.
"I am very excited to announce that I will be playing for East Carolina, the 5-foot-9 Palmetto, Fla. native said on Twitter.
The nephew of former NFL great Michael Irvin, was speculated to land at Texas or Miami, but explained to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports why he chose the Pirates program.
"They just kept it real cool.I just like everything there. I like the environment. The coaches kept it real. It's a place I can play right away. I can come in and work and compete with the other guys. They can help me reach my goals and get to the next level."
Irvin recorded 18 total tackles, eight of them solo last season with Auburn.
