Kentucky's Meant out indefinitely due to personal matter

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Kentucky coach Mark Stoops says that junior defensive tackle Regie Meant is out indefinitely to handle an unspecified personal matter, leaving the Wildcats without one of their most experienced linemen.
One of six returning defensive starters for Kentucky, Meant had 31 tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack while starting four of 10 games last season.
Stoops said Monday that Meant's departure had nothing to do with football and didn't know if he would return this season. The coach added that Meant's situation is ''just something to do with himself. ... But it is a blow to us and our depth on the D-line.''
Stoops also said that sophomore tight end Darryl Long will transfer in order to get more playing time.
