Middle Tennessee State WR Terry Pettis out for season with leg injury
Middle Tennessee State suffered a significant blow Tuesday when it was revealed that senior wide receiver Terry Pettis will miss the entire 2016 season with a right leg injury.
Pettis sustained the injury approximately one week ago, according to Aldo Giovanni Amato of The Daily News Journal. Pettis is the second Blue Raiders receiver to have his season ended by a leg injury, joining fellow wideout Shane Tucker who announced his injury last month.
"Terry is a huge, huge loss," head coach Rick Stockstill said. "Losing Ed Batties (graduation) and now Terry, that's at least 1,600 yards lost production."
Although Stockstill did acknowledge the chance of Tucker returning this season, the Blue Raiders will need to find a way to replace the 1,158 receiving yards and seven touchdown catches Tucker and Pettis combined for last season.
