Nebraska suspends Brandon Reilly, Nathan Gerry for opener

Nebraska senior wide receiver Brandon Reilly and senior safety Nathan Gerry won't play in the Huskers' season opener against Fresno State on Sept. 3, according to Samuel McKewon of the World-Herald.

Head coach Mike Riley made the announcement Thursday after practice and said both Reilly and Gerry were suspended for violating team rules.
Reilly recorded 40 catches for 754 yards and four touchdowns last season, while Gerry led the team in tackles with 79.
Nebraska faces Wyoming in Week 2.
