Pitt running back James Conner said he couldn't wait to run out of the tunnel Saturday after an offseason spent battling, and ultimately beating cancer.
Conner, a team captain, led the Panthers out onto the field prior to their game against Villanova.
On hand to watch the emotional return was a number of family members and doctors wearing "Conner's Corner" T-shirts.

The running back also found the end zone in the second quarter for Pitt's first touchdown of the season.
